In addition to the above, he also is the man who set up the Tanato Foundation more than ten years ago to offer scholarships to teachers and provide healthcare in remote areas. For his philanthropy and support of education, Tanoto received the Dean’s Medal from Wharton, the school’s highest honor, in October 2012. He is married with four children, three of whom graduated from Wharton.
