Lee Chong Wei has won three silver medals at the Olympic games at the 2008 Beijing, 2012 London, and 2016 Rio de Janeiro. He has won gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in 2006 and 2010, the Asian Championships in 2006, 2016, and 2017, and the Southeast Asian Games in 2005. He also won silver medals at the 2011, 2013, and 2015 World Championships and a bronze at the 2005 World Championships. Lee Chong Wei earned the title Datuk and was described as a national hero by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
