Bone Thugs-n-Harmony

During the mid-to-late 1990s, Layzie Bone played an instrumental role in the group’s most successful period. Albums like “Creepin on ah Come Up,” “E. 1999 Eternal,” and “The Art of War” achieved multi-platinum sales. Layzie’s rapid-fire delivery and versatile flow helped define hits like “1st of tha Month” and “Tha Crossroads,” the latter earning the group a Grammy Award. Their sound was revolutionary—a melodic, fast-paced blend of Midwest rhythm and street reality that stood apart in a West Coast– and East Coast–dominated rap world.

Solo Work and Business Ventures

Layzie Bone released his debut solo album, “Thug by Nature,” in 2001. He also collaborated with Bizzy Bone on the “Bone Brothers” albums and launched Harmony Howse Entertainment, his independent label. Though his solo career never matched the commercial height of Bone Thugs, Layzie maintained a steady presence in hip-hop and on stage.
